The 17-year-old celebrated her victory with her father, Stewart Brown, after finishing first in the competition held in São Paulo.

“This feels huge and I’m so thankful,” Brown said after the event. She also shared a message of hope, saying she prayed for peace around the world.

Competition Interrupted by Rain

The final at the World Skateboarding Championships faced delays because of heavy rain and poor weather conditions.

Skaters completed only two of the planned four runs. Organisers later decided to end the event early because the wet surface made the bowl unsafe.

Officials confirmed Brown as the winner after she posted a leading score of 88.16 points.

Podium Results

Japan’s Mizuho Hasegawa finished second with 84.36 points, while American skater Minna Stess secured third place with 83.90 points.

Brown praised the high level of competition but admitted she wished the final could have continued.

“The level is crazy,” she said. “I had to give everything to reach this point.”

A Champion Since Her Early Teens

Brown first won the world championship in 2023 at the event in Sharjah when she was just 14 years old.

She also made history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by becoming Great Britain’s youngest Olympic medalist at age 13, winning bronze in park skateboarding.

Brown later added another Olympic bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics, despite competing shortly after dislocating her shoulder.

A Rising Global Skateboarding Star

Born in Miyazaki to a Japanese mother and British father, Brown began competing internationally at just eight years old.

She chose to represent Great Britain in 2018 and has since become one of the sport’s biggest young stars.

With another world title added to her achievements, Brown continues to strengthen her reputation as one of the most talented skateboarders of her generation.
