Powerful explosions echoed across Dubai as residents ran for cover during an Iranian missile attack. Air raid sirens wailed across the city, and witnesses reported at least three major blasts overhead.

Videos shared online showed people rushing into buildings for safety. A fire broke out near the entrance of Fairmont The Palm hotel after debris reportedly fell from the sky. Images showed flames and thick smoke rising outside the luxury hotel in Palm Jumeirah.

Dubai’s media office confirmed that emergency teams responded quickly to the incident. Officials said four people were injured and taken to hospital. Authorities later confirmed that the fire was under control and urged residents to remain calm.

Explosions were also heard in Abu Dhabi. The UAE’s defence ministry said its air defence systems successfully intercepted Iranian missiles. However, falling debris struck a residential area, killing one person.

In an official statement, the defence ministry said the country remains fully prepared to confront any threats and will take all necessary steps to protect national security.

Residents described scenes of fear and confusion. “The kids are terrified,” one Abu Dhabi resident said after hearing explosions. A second wave of missiles was later seen crossing Dubai’s skies.

As a precaution, the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority temporarily closed the country’s airspace.

The strikes mark a serious escalation in regional tensions, bringing the conflict directly into major Gulf cities.
