On the Queen Elizabeth 100th birthday tribute, King Charles III shared an emotional video message in memory of his “darling Mama,” Queen Elizabeth II.
In the message, recorded at Balmoral Castle, the King reflected on his mother’s lifelong dedication to public service and duty. He also suggested that the current state of the world may have deeply concerned her.
A Legacy of Duty and Service
King Charles praised the late Queen for remaining constant and steadfast throughout decades of change. He highlighted her unwavering commitment to the people she served across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
He described her life as one shaped by remarkable transformation, yet guided by a deep sense of responsibility and purpose.
The tribute also renewed his own pledge of duty and service, reflecting the values that defined Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign.
Memorial Statue and Commemorative Events
As part of the centenary events, the final design of a bronze memorial statue was presented to the royal family. The sculpture, created by Martin Jennings, depicts the Queen in her younger years wearing ceremonial robes of the Order of the Garter.
The memorial will stand in St James’s Park and will rise nearly 10 feet tall on a raised plinth. The design draws inspiration from the iconic 1955 portrait by Pietro Annigoni.
In addition, the broader memorial project includes a statue of Prince Philip and a later-life bust of the Queen.
Honoring Future Generations
According to Lord Janvrin, chairman of the memorial committee, the aim is to represent the Queen’s strong sense of duty for future generations.
The chosen design focuses on her public role rather than personal interests. This decision helps preserve the image of a monarch whose life symbolized service and stability.
