NOTTS OUTLAWS have signed Scotland batter George Munsey for this year’s T20 Blast campaign.
The 33-year-old brings strong international experience. He has represented Scotland national cricket team 155 times in white-ball cricket. He recently featured in Scotland’s T20 World Cup campaign, which ended at the group stage.
Munsey impressed with a top score of 84 in Scotland’s win over Italy during the tournament.
He has also built a solid reputation in franchise cricket. Munsey has scored more than 2,700 runs in T20 competitions. He has played in leagues in Bangladesh, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. In England, he has previously represented Hampshire and Kent in the Blast.
Munsey said he looks forward to contributing his experience to the squad. He believes his knowledge of the format can help the team enjoy a strong season.
Notts Outlaws have won the T20 Blast twice, most recently in 2020. However, they have failed to reach the knockout stage in the past two seasons.
Head coach Peter Moores said Munsey adds valuable depth and experience to the batting lineup. He stressed that local players will still have opportunities to compete for selection.
Moores hopes the squad can challenge for honors this season. With a busy schedule across all formats, he believes experienced players like Munsey will play a key role.
Notts now aim to return to their winning ways in this year’s T20 Blast.
