MARK WILLIAM, has made a bold and humorous claim as he targets a fourth world snooker title, saying he would “do anything” to win at the Crucible.

The 51-year-old Welshman, one of the sport’s most successful players, won the world title in 2000, 2003 and 2018. His 2018 victory over John Higgins ended with an unforgettable moment when he appeared at his press conference wearing only a towel after fulfilling a pre-tournament promise.

Williams later joked that he would even run down the M4 between London and Cardiff naked if he were to win a fourth title, highlighting how much the achievement would mean to him at this stage of his career.

The veteran has come close to adding another world crown in recent years. Last season, he reached the final but lost to Zhao Xintong, who became the first Asian world champion.

That run made Williams the oldest player ever to reach a world final, reinforcing his status as one of the sport’s most enduring competitors.

However, his preparation for future success has not been straightforward. He is currently dealing with eyesight issues and is awaiting lens replacement surgery. He has admitted concerns about how treatment could affect his performance under the bright lights of televised events.

Williams has also spoken openly about struggles with form and confidence, describing periods where his timing and execution have been affected. He has acknowledged that he needs consistent practice to regain rhythm ahead of major tournaments.
