Jack Crowley returned to the Ireland line-up against England, delivering a composed performance that helped the team secure a 42-21 Six Nations triumph at Twickenham.

Reinstated following Sam Prendergast’s inconsistent start to the tournament, Crowley’s partnership with Jamison Gibson-Park rekindled the 2024 Six Nations-winning half-back combination. He orchestrated the Irish attack efficiently and kicked 17 points, helping Ireland dominate the game.

“Being honest, no [there was no extra pressure],” Crowley said ahead of Friday’s match against Wales. “It comes back to process – doing the right thing, simplifying play, and making the right call.”

Crowley, 26, had previously lost his starting role to Prendergast but impressed with his Munster form, earning a return to the squad. Despite the online debate surrounding Ireland’s fly-half choices, Crowley remains unbothered.

“It is easy if you just put it away and don’t engage with it,” he said. “You have a choice and you can choose not to engage. It’s like creating good habits day to day.”

Crowley also highlighted the importance of mental preparation for hostile environments. He stressed controlling what is in one’s power and staying composed under pressure, whether kicking or executing other critical skills.

“Breath works for me, a lot of breath works. Bring it back to what’s in your control and maintain a robust technique no matter the situation,” he added.

With his calm approach and technical skill, Crowley has solidified his place as Ireland’s first-choice fly-half and will lead the attack in Dublin against Wales.
