VICTOR WEMBANYAMA delivered a standout performance as the San Antonio Spurs staged a dramatic 25-point comeback to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 116-112.
The French star scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the fightback on Friday night. San Antonio trailed 75-50 in the third quarter before turning the game around.
Late Heroics Seal Victory
Wembanyama secured the win with the go-ahead basket with just 16 seconds left. The comeback marked the Spurs’ largest of the season.
The victory also extended San Antonio’s impressive run to 14 wins in their last 15 games.
After the game, Wembanyama admitted he had given everything on the court.
“I was about to pass out. I’ve got zero left right now,” he said. “That was one of the best wins and one of the best moments of my basketball career.”
Spurs Chase Conference Leaders
The Spurs improved their record to 46-17. They now sit 2.5 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, who lead the Western Conference.

Elsewhere in the NBA, Luka Doncic scored 44 points to guide the Los Angeles Lakers to a 128-117 win over the Indiana Pacers.
The Lakers played without LeBron James, who missed the game with elbow and foot injuries. Doncic’s performance marked his 10th 40-point game of the season.
Meanwhile, OG Anunoby scored a season-high 34 points as the New York Knicks defeated the Denver Nuggets 142-103.
Denver guard Jamal Murray left the game after injuring his ankle when he stepped on teammate Nikola Jokic’s foot.
Celtics Welcome Back Tatum
The Boston Celtics also secured a 120-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
Jayson Tatum returned to action after recovering from a ruptured Achilles suffered during last season’s playoffs.
The six-time All-Star scored 15 points in 27 minutes, helping Boston maintain second place in the Eastern Conference.
