SHADAB KHAN produced a match-winning all-round performance to guide Islamabad United to their first victory in the 2026 Pakistan Super League, beating Quetta Gladiators by eight wickets.
Shadab led from the front with the ball, taking 3-23 and restricting Quetta’s scoring momentum at key moments. Despite his efforts, Quetta posted a competitive total of 183-5. Hasan Nawaz played an outstanding innings, smashing an unbeaten 66 off just 36 balls. Tom Curran added valuable late runs with 29 not out, helping Quetta finish strongly.
In response, Islamabad delivered a confident batting display. Young opener Sameer Minhas stole the spotlight with an unbeaten 82 off 48 balls. He attacked the bowlers with confidence and controlled the chase from the start.
Shadab supported him brilliantly, scoring an unbeaten 69 from 39 deliveries, including four powerful sixes. The duo built a match-winning partnership and chased down the target comfortably.
This dominant win gives Islamabad United strong momentum as they look to climb the PSL standings and build consistency in the tournament.
