Scotland opened their T20 series against Namibia with a strong performance, chasing down a target of 160 with seven balls to spare in Windhoek.

Namibia chose to bat first after winning the toss but struggled early in their innings. They collapsed to 94 for 6 as Scotland’s bowlers applied consistent pressure. Jasper Davidson and left-arm spinner Mark Watt both claimed two wickets each while keeping the scoring rate under control.

Despite the early setback, Namibia recovered to post 159 for 7. Captain Gerhard Erasmus led the fightback with a well-made 54, while Jan Balt added an unbeaten 19 in a late cameo to push the total closer to a competitive score.

Louren Steenkamp, who scored 67 in the ODI between the sides on Sunday, managed only 27 this time. His dismissal also gave Scotland debutant Zainullah Ihsan his first international wicket.

Scotland responded confidently in their chase. Openers George Munsey (44) and Finlay McCreath (16) set a strong foundation during the powerplay and kept the momentum steady.

Brandon McMullen continued his excellent form after scoring a century in the previous match. He finished unbeaten on 44 and guided Scotland towards victory. Captain Richie Berrington also played a key role with 34 runs in his 350th appearance for Scotland.

Berrington eventually fell to a stunning one-handed catch on the boundary by Ruben Trumpelmann. However, wicketkeeper Matthew Cross finished the chase with two runs into the off side to seal the win.

Scotland now lead the series 1–0 with two matches remaining, scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 13:00 BST.
