Scotland and Ireland will compete against hosts England at the Women’s T20 World Cup after the tournament draw was confirmed.

Both teams secured their spots in the World Cup through the qualifying tournament in Nepal earlier this month.

They join England in Group Two, alongside West Indies, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.

England will face Scotland at Headingley on 20 June, marking the first cricket World Cup encounter between the two nations in the UK, for men or women. Ireland will take on England in Southampton on 16 June, while Ireland and Scotland open their campaigns against each other at Old Trafford on 13 June. England will begin the tournament against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston a day earlier.

Bangladesh and the Netherlands also qualified, joining Australia, South Africa, India, and Pakistan in Group One.

This year’s 12-team field is the largest in the 17-year history of the Women’s T20 World Cup, and full groups and fixtures have now been released.

New Zealand will defend the title they won in the United Arab Emirates two years ago. This edition marks the first Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in England since the inaugural 2009 tournament.

Matches will take place at Old Trafford, Headingley, Southampton, and Bristol. The semi-finals are scheduled for The Oval on 30 June and 2 July, with the final set for Lord’s on Sunday, 5 July.
