ANTOINE DUPONT remains one of the most celebrated players in rugby. The France captain helped his team secure back-to-back titles in the Six Nations Championship after a dramatic 48–46 victory over England national rugby union team in Paris.

Dupont has built an impressive career and often enters discussions about rugby’s greatest players. However, another French star has recently captured the spotlight.

That player is Louis Bielle‑Biarrey.

A Rising Star for France

The young French winger has delivered extraordinary performances in the Six Nations. Last year, he scored eight tries, setting a tournament record and earning the Player of the Championship award.

One year later, he raised the bar again.

Bielle-Biarrey scored four tries against England in the tournament finale. His tally reached nine tries, breaking his own record and helping France lift the title again.

He has now scored in 10 consecutive Six Nations matches, an achievement rarely seen at international level.

Scoring at a Historic Rate

Despite playing only 14 Six Nations games, Bielle-Biarrey already ranks among the competition’s most productive try scorers.

The tournament’s all-time leader remains Brian O’Driscoll with 26 tries. Bielle-Biarrey currently sits eight behind that mark.

Given his pace and consistency, many analysts believe he could eventually challenge that record.

Why He Is Called the ‘Haaland of Rugby’

Observers often compare Bielle-Biarrey to football superstar Erling Haaland because of his scoring ability.

The comparison goes beyond statistics. Last season, Bielle-Biarrey scored 33 tries for club and country, only one fewer than Haaland’s goal total for Manchester City.

Former England winger Ugo Monye praised the French player’s remarkable pace and finishing ability. According to Monye, Bielle-Biarrey runs at more than 10 meters per second, making him the fastest player in the Six Nations.

More Than Just a Finisher

Although many fans admire his scoring ability, Bielle-Biarrey contributes far more to the team.

Analysts highlight his strong defensive work, intelligent positioning, and playmaking skills. During the latest tournament, he also created several scoring opportunities for teammates.

His aerial skills and kicking ability add another dimension to his game. These qualities make him a complete winger rather than just a try scorer.

A Career Still in Its Early Stages

Bielle-Biarrey already showed his potential at the Rugby World Cup 2023, where he scored four tries for France.

At club level, he represents Union Bordeaux Bègles and continues to develop into one of the most exciting players in international rugby.

Even established stars such as Damian Penaud have received less attention recently because of Bielle-Biarrey’s outstanding form.

Former Wales captain Sam Warburton noted that Penaud once held the reputation as the most dangerous winger. Now many observers believe Bielle-Biarrey has surpassed that level.

The Future of French Rugby

France continues to produce world-class talent, but Bielle-Biarrey stands out as one of the brightest young stars in the sport.

If his current scoring rate continues, he could become one of the most prolific try scorers in rugby history.

For now, the “Haaland of rugby” shows no signs of slowing down.
