LIONEL MESSI and his Inter Miami CF teammates visited the Donald Trump at the White House to celebrate their first Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup victory.

The MLS champions, co-owned by former David Beckham, were invited ahead of their match against DC United in Washington on Saturday.

Messi and his teammates stood on stage as Trump addressed the media, recognizing their achievement while also providing updates on US and Israeli actions in Iran.

Trump shared a personal anecdote:

“My son Barron asked, ‘Dad, do you know who’s going to be there today?’ I said no. He said, ‘Messi!’ He’s a big fan and thinks you’re a great person.”

Messi, 38, committed to Inter Miami in October with a new contract running until 2028. He became the first MLS player to win back-to-back Most Valuable Player awards in the league’s history.

Trump praised Messi’s career achievements:

“Leo claimed the 47th trophy of his incredible career—the most of all time. You could have played anywhere in the world, but you chose Miami. Thank you for bringing us all on this ride.”

He also compared Messi to the legendary Pele:

“I watched Pele play. I don’t know—you may be better than Pele. Pele was pretty good.”

The White House visit celebrated Messi’s impact on MLS and the landmark success of Inter Miami, marking a historic moment for the club and the league.
