Australian radio personality Kyle Sandilands has been dismissed from his long-term contract, leading to the cancellation of his widely popular breakfast show. The decision follows a heated on-air dispute with his co-host Jackie O Henderson.

The show, which aired on ARN Media’s KISS FM, had been one of the most successful programs in Australian commercial radio, particularly in Sydney. Known for its bold and controversial style, the program consistently attracted strong audience ratings.

The conflict began during a live broadcast when Sandilands criticized Henderson’s work performance. The exchange quickly escalated, leaving Henderson visibly emotional. The incident led to Sandilands’ suspension, with the network giving him two weeks to address the situation.

After reviewing the matter, ARN Media concluded that his actions violated the terms of his contract. As a result, the company terminated his agreement and cancelled the show.

Sandilands has strongly rejected the decision. He stated that he plans to challenge the dismissal through legal action. He argued that the network was fully aware of his presenting style and had supported it due to the show’s success.

The future of Henderson’s contract remains uncertain. Although she had signed a long-term deal tied to the program, the show’s cancellation has created questions about her next steps.

Following the incident, Henderson took a break from the show and later clarified that she had not resigned. She expressed disappointment over how events unfolded and confirmed that she is handling the matter through legal channels.

Sandilands claimed that disagreements like this were not unusual during their long professional partnership, which spans more than two decades. He also stated that he apologized shortly after the incident but was restricted from contacting his co-host or production team afterward.

Reports suggest internal tensions may have contributed to the situation. High production costs and unsuccessful attempts to expand the show into other markets may have influenced the network’s decision.

The sudden end of one of Australia’s most prominent radio shows marks a significant shift in the country’s media landscape. The outcome of any legal proceedings could further shape the future of both presenters.
