A large-scale wave of drone and missile strikes by Russia has killed at least 15 people and injured dozens across Ukraine, marking a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict.

Officials confirmed that attacks hit multiple cities overnight, including the capital Kyiv, where four people—among them a 12-year-old boy—lost their lives.

🚨 Widespread destruction across major cities

In Kyiv, emergency services rescued survivors from the rubble after a 16-storey residential building collapsed in the Podilskyi district. Several others, including emergency medical workers, were injured during repeated shelling in the northern parts of the city.

In the southeastern city of Dnipro, three people were killed and many more injured as explosions set buildings ablaze.

The southern port city of Odesa also suffered heavy casualties, with eight people reported dead following missile and drone strikes.

Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, a drone attack injured two elderly residents.

⚠️ Cross-border casualties

Across the border in Russia, authorities reported that a Ukrainian drone strike killed two children in the Krasnodar Krai region.

🕊️ Ceasefire collapses

The attacks came just days after a temporary ceasefire during Orthodox Easter. Both sides accused each other of violating the truce multiple times, highlighting the fragile nature of any pause in fighting.

🌍 Calls for global action

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the strikes, calling them war crimes and urging the international community to increase pressure on Russia.

He called for stronger sanctions and additional support for Ukraine, stressing the need for immediate action.

🔍 Ongoing conflict with no clear resolution

The war has now entered its fifth year, with several rounds of peace talks failing to produce lasting results. The United States has previously acted as a mediator, but diplomatic efforts have slowed amid shifting global priorities.

Ukraine continues to push for a full and stable ceasefire as the first step toward ending the conflict.

For now, civilians remain caught in the crossfire as violence intensifies and hopes for peace remain uncertain.
