Ukrainian forces say they have hit one of Russia’s most important military factories. The announcement came from Volodymyr Zelensky, who said the target produced electronics used in Russian missiles.
According to Ukrainian officials, the facility helps build parts for weapons that have struck cities and civilian areas across Ukraine.
Missile Strike on Strategic Factory
Ukraine’s military said it used Storm Shadow missiles in the operation. The attack reportedly targeted the Kremniy El plant located in Russia’s Bryansk region.
The factory is believed to produce electronic components used in missile systems.
Russia Reports Civilian Casualties
Russian authorities said the missile strike killed at least six civilians and injured more than 40 others. Officials described the incident as a “terrorist missile attack.”
The Kremlin also claimed that the launch of the missiles required technical support from British specialists.
Dmitry Peskov argued that such attacks justify Russia’s ongoing military campaign in Ukraine.
Russia’s War Objectives
The Kremlin continues to describe the invasion as a “special military operation.” Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that one of the main goals is the “demilitarisation” of Ukraine.
However, the war has also increased military aid to Ukraine from Western countries.
International Support for Both Sides
Western nations have supplied Ukraine with advanced weapons systems to help defend its territory.
Russia has also received assistance from partners. For example, Iranian-made Shahed drones have been used in attacks. Reports also say North Korea has provided troops and support.
Continued Attacks Across Ukraine
Recent strikes continue to cause casualties. Ukrainian officials said a Russian drone attack in Kharkiv killed two people and injured five others.
Another attack in Slovyansk killed four people and injured 16 earlier this week.
War Stalemate and Peace Talks
The war between Russia and Ukraine has recently reached a military stalemate. Russia continues to make slow battlefield gains, while Ukraine claims it has reclaimed some territory.
Negotiations may take place again soon. Donald Trump is leading diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
One proposal suggests Ukraine might have to give up territories in the Donbas, which includes Donetsk and Luhansk.
Russia already controls more than 80% of the region. Ukraine, however, says it cannot accept giving up its territory.
