Carlos Alcaraz delivered a stunning performance to capture the Qatar Open title in just 50 minutes, defeating Arthur Fils 6-2 6-1 in Doha and maintaining his unbeaten start to 2026.

The 22-year-old Spanish top seed was relentless, converting five of seven break points and dominating every rally against France’s Fils. This victory marked Alcaraz’s 12th win of the season and his 26th career title, following last month’s Australian Open triumph.

“I came into this year hungry for more,” said Alcaraz. “It’s been a strong start, and I had to stay mentally strong with my team. I’m really happy with this week, and this trophy means a lot to me.”

Alcaraz set the tone early, breaking Fils’ serve in the opening game and swiftly taking the first set in just 28 minutes. In the second set, a double break to lead 3-0 saw Fils’ frustration boil over as he smashed his racquet. Although Fils managed to hold serve once, it was only a minor consolation as Alcaraz’s dominance continued.

The Spaniard fired 18 winners compared to Fils’ three and did not concede a single break point. His victory is now the shortest final of his career, surpassing last year’s quickest final at the Nordic Open when Casper Ruud defeated Ugo Humbert in 68 minutes.

Despite the one-sided scoreline, Fils praised Alcaraz’s performance: “You played very well. You’re a hell of a champion. Congrats to your team and to you, you did an unbelievable job.”

Alcaraz’s win in Doha underscores his growing dominance on the ATP tour and his ability to maintain top form following his historic Career Grand Slam at the Australian Open just 20 days ago.
