Fast-Paced Opening Exchanges

Exeter started strongly and built an early 14-7 lead through tries from Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Will Rigg. Alex Mitchell responded for Northampton, keeping the contest close.

As the first half progressed, Northampton increased their pressure and eventually leveled the score before the break, with Ollie Sleightholme crossing the line.

Momentum Swings in Second Half

Exeter regained control in the second half when Campbell Ridl scored to restore their advantage. However, the game quickly shifted after Feyi-Waboso received a yellow card.

Northampton capitalized immediately, with George Furbank scoring to bring the sides level again.

Discipline Proves Costly

Exeter’s challenges increased when another yellow card reduced them to 13 players. Northampton took advantage, and Henry Pollock powered over for a crucial try.

Despite being down in numbers, Exeter showed resilience. Paul Brown-Bampoe produced a brilliant effort, chasing down a kick to score. Henry Slade converted to level the match late on.

Last-Second Drama Seals Victory

Just as the game appeared to be heading for a draw, Fin Smith delivered the decisive moment. His late try secured the win for Northampton and capped off a dramatic contest.

The victory keeps Northampton firmly at the top of the Premiership table. Meanwhile, Exeter remain in fourth place despite a strong performance.

This result highlights Northampton’s resilience and ability to perform under pressure, reinforcing their status as title contenders.
