NBA Cancels Atlanta Hawks’ Strip Club Promotion

The Atlanta Hawks will no longer host a Magic City-inspired in-arena promotion following NBA intervention.

The NBA has stopped the Atlanta Hawks from holding a promotional collaboration with Atlanta strip club Magic City during their game against the Orlando Magic on 16 March.

The promotion, called “Magic City Monday,” was set to feature food, music, and merchandise inspired by the venue. There were no plans to host adult entertainment inside State Farm Arena before, during, or after the game.

NBA Steps In

Adam Silver said the league reached out to Hawks leadership to understand the plan before intervening.

“While we appreciate the team’s perspective, we have heard significant concerns from fans, partners, and employees,” Silver said. “Canceling this promotion is the right decision for the broader NBA community.”

Hawks Respond

The Hawks expressed disappointment but respected the NBA’s decision.

A team statement said: “As a franchise, we remain committed to celebrating the best of Atlanta—with authenticity—in ways that unite and bring everyone together.”
