PEP GUARDIOLA insisted he will not blame his players after Manchester City dropped crucial points in the Premier League title race.

City were held to a draw by Nottingham Forest despite leading twice during the match. The result leaves Guardiola’s side seven points behind league leaders Arsenal.

City took control early in the game. Goals from Antoine Semenyo and Rodri put them ahead. However, Forest responded strongly and refused to give up.

City dominated the match with 70% possession and 21 shots. But they once again failed to protect their lead. The team has now dropped 13 points from winning positions this season.

Guardiola said the performance was mostly positive. He praised his players for creating many chances against a defensive opponent. However, he admitted that mistakes during key moments continue to hurt the team.

Forest fought back through Morgan Gibbs-White, who scored with a clever backheel finish. Elliot Anderson then produced a brilliant curling shot to level the game again.

City players looked disappointed at the final whistle. Many of them left the pitch with heads down after losing two valuable points.

Guardiola refused to criticise individuals. He said the team created enough chances to win but could not convert them.

Meanwhile, Arsenal strengthened their title challenge with a narrow victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. That result increased the pressure on City in the race for the championship.

There was also controversy during the match. City striker Erling Haaland went down inside the box after contact with Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels.

Referee Darren England did not award a penalty. Video assistant referee Tony Harrington also decided not to review the decision.

City captain Bernardo Silva expressed frustration after the match. He said several close decisions have gone against City this season.

Guardiola avoided discussing the referee’s decision in detail. Instead, he said his team must focus on improving their own performance rather than relying on officials.

With several games left in the season, the title race remains open. However, dropped points like these could prove costly for Manchester City.
