Former Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed speculation that he will take over as head coach at Real Madrid this summer.

The 58-year-old, who left Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season, denied any discussions with Real Madrid but did not rule out returning to coaching in the future. Klopp has since served as head of global football with Red Bull.

Speaking at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation in Munich, Klopp said:

“If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now. But that’s all nonsense. They haven’t called even once, not once. My agent is there—you can ask him. They haven’t called him either. Right now, I’m not thinking about that.”

Klopp emphasized that while he is “advanced in life,” he is not finished as a coach. “Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there’s nothing planned,” he added.

Appointed Liverpool boss in October 2015, Klopp led the club to historic success, including a Champions League victory in 2019 and the first Premier League title in 30 years in 2019-20. He also won the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup during his tenure.

Klopp confirmed he will not manage any other Premier League team: “What I know definitely is that I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100%. That’s not possible.”

Before joining Liverpool, Klopp managed in Germany with Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012.
