Arsenal’s hopes of a historic season are beginning to fade after a difficult two-week spell. Not long ago, many tipped the team to achieve an extraordinary quadruple. Now, those ambitions look increasingly unrealistic.

The team suffered a painful defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. Soon after, Southampton knocked them out of the FA Cup in a surprising quarter-final result. These back-to-back losses have raised serious concerns about Arsenal’s momentum.

Southampton sealed the win late in the match when Shea Charles scored in the 85th minute. Earlier, Ross Stewart had given Southampton the lead, while Viktor Gyokeres equalized for Arsenal in the second half. Despite controlling possession and taking 23 shots, Arsenal failed to take control of the game.

This marks the first time this season that Arsenal have lost consecutive matches. While their overall campaign remains strong, the timing of these defeats could not be worse.

Now, attention shifts to how the team will respond. Arsenal still compete in both the Premier League and the Champions League. However, the pressure continues to grow.

Former forward Theo Walcott warned that the team must stay focused and avoid letting the situation worsen. He stressed that Arsenal have worked hard all season and cannot afford to lose confidence now.

He also observed tension on the sidelines during the match. According to him, the coaching staff appeared overly reactive, which may have affected the players’ composure on the pitch.

The performance itself did not match Arsenal’s usual standards. Although they created chances, they lacked the cutting edge needed to secure victory.

The manager defended his players after the match. He praised their effort and commitment throughout the season. He also took responsibility for the result and emphasized unity within the squad.

He acknowledged that every season includes difficult moments. According to him, this is Arsenal’s first real setback of the campaign. He urged the team to stay strong and maintain belief in their approach.

Looking ahead, Arsenal must quickly regain focus. The final phase of the season will define their success. To stay competitive, they need to maintain intensity, confidence, and consistency in every match.

If they respond positively, they can still turn this challenging period into a defining moment.
