An India fireworks blast kills 13 people at a factory in Kerala’s Thrissur district.

Around 40 workers assembled firecrackers in temporary sheds for an upcoming festival. The explosion injured several others. Five remain in critical condition.

This marks the second India fireworks blast this week. On Sunday, a Tamil Nadu factory explosion killed at least 25 (source).

India’s fireworks industry sees frequent accidental blasts. Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu produces most of the nation’s supply.

Blast Details and Rescue Challenges

Workers prepared fireworks for the Thruvambady temple and Thrissur Pooram festival.

The Tuesday explosion hit at 15:30 local time (10:00 GMT). Secondary blasts slowed rescuers.

Sheds stood near paddy fields with bad road access. The force shook homes kilometers away—some thought it was an earthquake.

Eyewitnesses rushed to help. Locals pulled injured and dead from debris.

Kerala’s Revenue Minister K Rajan confirmed permits for festival fireworks in designated areas.

Authorities probe safety lapses in this latest India fireworks blast. Festival plans continue amid grief.
