William Osula Haunts Manchester United with Late Winner for Newcastle

William Osula scored a late goal to secure a 2-1 victory for Newcastle United over Manchester United.

Fans of Manchester United may have recognized the name William Osula long before his dramatic goal for Newcastle United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Osula scored a late winner to secure a 2-1 victory for Newcastle. The goal created headlines not only because of the result but also because of the player’s unusual history with Manchester United.

From Old Trafford Skills Winner to Premier League Scorer

Back in 2014, Osula was just 11 years old when he won the Manchester United Soccer Schools World Skills Final.

The young forward received his prize at Old Trafford. Club legends Bryan Robson and Gary Pallister presented the award on the pitch.

Manchester United even shared the moment on social media. The image of Osula celebrating his win has now resurfaced online following his decisive goal against the same club.

Rising Through the Ranks

Osula was born in Copenhagen and began developing his football career in England. He joined the academy of Sheffield United in 2018.

The striker later progressed through the club’s system and also represented Denmark U21 national team at international level.

Impact at Newcastle United

The 22-year-old moved to Newcastle from Sheffield United in the summer of 2024. Since arriving at St James’ Park, he has mostly played as a substitute.

Osula’s goal against Manchester United was his third in 30 Premier League appearances for Newcastle. Notably, he came off the bench in 29 of those matches.

Despite limited minutes, the young striker made a big impact. His late strike delivered a valuable victory for Newcastle and created a memorable moment in his career.
