Tiger Woods will return to competitive golf for the first time in more than a year at the final night of the 2026 TGL season on Tuesday.
The 50-year-old, who has undergone multiple surgeries over the past two years, has been sidelined since an October 2025 operation to replace a disk in his back. His last competitive appearance was at TGL in February 2025, while his last PGA Tour event took place 20 months ago.
Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club X account shared a photo of the 15-time major winner with the caption: “I’m back.”
During the 2026 TGL season, Woods has held a non-playing role with Jupiter Links GC, an indoor PGA Tour-backed setup in Florida that uses a massive screen to simulate courses.
Woods’ team defeated Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common in last week’s semi-final and will face Los Angeles Golf Club in a best-of-three final. The Los Angeles team, featuring England’s Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood, won the opening match. Woods will replace Kevin Kisner for Tuesday’s season finale.
Speaking last month, Woods said competing in the Masters (9-12 April) remains a possibility. “I’ve been working on it. Some days are good, some days are tough. Disc replacement isn’t easy,” he said.
However, Woods noted that indoor practice with flat lies differs greatly from navigating the hilly terrain of Augusta National.
The American golfer has faced multiple health setbacks, including severe leg injuries from a 2021 car crash, a back operation in September 2024, and a ruptured Achilles tendon in March 2025.
“My body doesn’t heal like it did when I was 24,” Woods explained. “I have good days where I can do almost anything, and other days where moving around is difficult.”
